Say hello to...

...Aaron Slater, a British pop singer/songwriter whose knack for creating infectious pop melodies and lyrical hooks has taken him and his music across Europe and the U.S. His acoustic song-writing and quirky R&B influences have a fresh pop-electro-rock sound that has already been compared to the likes of Mika, Justin Timberlake and Gnarls Barkley.

Born in rural Somerset, Aaron is the son of artist Linda Slater and blues singer/songwriter Michael 'Mutter' Slater - a member of the successful 70s folk band Stackridge, famed for having played twice at the first Glastonbury Festival. With 80s pop, Motown and blues permanently on the stereo, and every room filled with guitars, four-track recorders and synths, the Slater family home revolved around music - even his grandmother worked in a record shop and still does!

Inspired by the Britpop era in 1996, Aaron formed a guitar band and tirelessly began writing songs and, after creating hundreds of original compositions and a promising early demo, was asked to record a professional recording for Interscope Records in Los Angeles. With positive feedback, Aaron lined up support slots with pop-hopefuls Electrasy (Columbia) and Elliot Green (Playtime) on tour across England's university circuit.

In 2002, Aaron's music career changed direction and took him to London where he began performing as a solo singer/songwriter on the acoustic circuit. Spotted by singer, Mark Owen, Aaron was asked to co-write and audition to be a guitarist on his next solo album, but as Take That reformed, the album project was shelved.

2005 saw Aaron's music feature on the BBC Sports Review Of The Year television programme which, along with sudden online interest via internet radio stations, scored him a worldwide recording contract with American record label Fiberlineaudio who released singles 'Alien To Me' and Super Natural. Picked up by Nick Warren and Jody Wisternoff of Way Out West, Alien To Me became a regular track in their DJ sets at Space in Ibiza, the Miami WMC 2006 and John Digweed's show on Kiss FM. In the U.S. the track was reviewed in Billboard Magazine as "An engaging vocal performance, catchy lyrics and a captivating acoustic guitar. Brilliant".

By 2009, Popshop, 1 2 One Management and Universal Music had got behind Aaron Slater's career as a solo artist and recording sessions began on his debut album. Working with renowned pop writer-producer Will Simms, the 5-track Miss Opportunity EP gave a hint of things to come.
